The remarkable QuadRetro Chronograph and WHY some people buy it

This was and remains today a remarkable watch from my over exposed and often over loaded choices of chronographs. Yesterday, I had the big pleasure to visit the Genta Shop in Paris. I was perfectly welcomed by Caroline and Laure, as always ! I took the opportunity to shoot several Arena watches. I saw both Gefica and the new biretro simultaneuosly at Le Sentier in winter of 2006. I was struck by the break away from all tradition, dna, thematic trade marks etc by both teams. Gefica as it ages...4 months old.

have kept it unworn for a month. Placed on my desk, after wearing it almost daily for several months.It has a matt appearance, very "wood" like in nature, as if the case was carved from a heavy, solid piece of teakwood. Very unusual, it does not even look like metal, a very very pleasing and strangely "zen" like quality of serenity about it.Now, when the first pieces arrive in Singapore for Tempus, we MUST compare them! ...

Reasons behind design? To convey a very bold and mechanical look - no superluminova, only bold carved-in materials. It is a watch from another time, between the 1920's African/Art Deco period and the futuristic "Predator" Steam Punk era. Giger..Swiss...Computer era...vs tribal drums... The design is a mixture of Art Deco and African Art (which was an influence on Art Deco).
